Sunday morning sunshine — up early I took a drive to White Plains in a rave red 2009 Mitsubishi Galant Raliart.
The Galant surprised me — it’s a bit more spiffy than the base model with performance handling, sport-tuned suspension. On jagged roads, response was good, perhaps due to stabilizer bars on the front and rear. The interior was comfort for a long drive and I like the visibility inside the cabin from the dash to the rear.
While the design has not received winning reviews namely for a strange schnoz, it didn’t bother me (I have a big nose, too). Frankly, it’s refreshing to see any variation on a sedan that’s not a Toyota. My traveling buddies fell in love with the cranberry hue. Of course, I always appreciate a standard premium audio system. The price tag on the vehicle I tested was $29,424.00 — making it a contender in the under $30k sedan marketplace. MPG is not outstanding in lieu of performance 16/25, but a much more enjoyable boat to ride home on the Sprain Brook Parkway.
