Priscilla Vazquez was back for another night on the scene capturing the BMI CMJ showcase at Crash Mansion. Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) collects license fees on behalf of songwriters, composers and music publishers and distributes them as royalties to members whose works have been performed. BMI represents the gamut of musicans. Vazquez saw this range of style at their College Music Journal event.
Truly an eclectic lineup at the BMI Showcase at Crash Mansion on Wednesday night. Space Capone employed the danceable sounds of funk and r&b, with a heavy bass that got people moving. “They are a very good live band. They have like nine members, makes them very animated,” one attendee said.

George Harrison’s “Something” was played by the much lower key The Enemy Lovers. The Modern Skirts had stronger beats and a much more animated live show.

Next came Mike Del Rio, who Billboard magazine called one of the Top Unsigned Talents in 2007. One whole day later, and I still have his song “All The Girls” stuck in my head.
